Royal St Georges

The Royal St George's Golf Club located in Sandwich, Kent, England, is considered one of the finest golf courses in the World.

A regular on The Open Championship rotation, it has hosted 15 Open's the first of which came in 1894 when it became the first club outside Scotland to host the championship. Past champions include Collin Morikawa, Greg Norman, Sandy Lyle, Walter Hagen, Harry Vardon & JH Taylor.

One great characteristic-I think it is a beauty-of [Royal St George’s] is the extraordinary solitude that surrounds the individual player. We wind about in the dells and hollows among great hills, alone in the midst of a multitude, and hardly ever realize that there are others playing on the links until we meet them at luncheon.”
